How to reach us

The faculty-of-physics building (building no. 30.23) (download campus map, pdf, ca. 1.5 MB) is located on the Campus South of the KIT in the Wolfgang-Gaede-Str. 1.

You will find the secretary office in the 3rd floor, room no. 3-15.

How to reach us by rail

Zug

There are four tramways from the railway station to the Campus South. The closest stops from our institute are:

  • Kronenplatz (Kaiserstr.)
  • Kronenplatz (Fritz-Erler-Str.)

You can find the exact departure times at the local transport company's website: Karlsruher Verkehrsverbund KVV.

How to reach us by car

PKWComing from North: Frankfurt and Heidelberg (A5)
  • Exit the motorway A5 (direction Karlsruhe/Basel) at the Karlsruhe-Durlach exit.
  • Continue towards Karlsruhe (first exit).
  • Follow the four-lane road  (Durlacher Allee), and then turn to the right (Adenauerring).

  • After a short distance you reach the main entrance on the left.

 

Coming from Northwest: Köln and Koblenz (A61)
  • Follow the motorway A61 until you reach the A5 (direction Karlsruhe/Basel)
  • Exit the motorway A5 at the Karlsruhe-Durlach exit. 
  • Continue towards Karlsruhe (first exit).
  • Follow the four-lane road  (Durlacher Allee), then turn to the right (Adenauerring).
  • After a short distance you will reach the main entrance on the left.

 

Coming from East: Munich and Stuttgart (A8)
  • Follow the motorway A8 direction Karlsruhe until you reach the junction Karlsruhe.
  • Proceed to the motorway A5 to Frankfurt.
  • Exit the motorway A5 at the Karlsruhe-Durlach exit.
  • Continue towards Karlsruhe (first exit).
  • Follow the four-lane road  (Durlacher Allee), then turn to the right (Adenauerring).
  • After a short distance you will reach the main entrance on the left.

 

Coming from South:  Basel and Freiburg (A5)
  • Exit the motorway A5 direction Frankfurt at the Karlsruhe-Durlach exit.
  • Continue towards Karlsruhe (first exit).
  • Follow the four-lane road  (Durlacher Allee), then turn to the right (Adenauerring). After a short distance you will reach the main entrance on the left.

 

Leave the highway at the exit "Karlsruhe/Karlsruhe-Durlach". Follow direction "Karlsruhe-Zentrum" for about 2.4 km and follow the sign "Universität" at the crossing "Durlacher Tor".

 

 Autobahn A65 (Wörth/Karlsruhe)

Stay on the "Südtangente" and follow direction "Stadtmitte", exit at "Stadion/Oststadt", follow the sign "Stadion/Universität".

Please use the campus main entrance at the "Adenauer-Ring 7".

Access at the western entrance is possible only with a code card.
