Abstract: UTe2 is one of the most promising materials to show topological superconductivity. The intimate connection between bulk and boundary places the surface at the center of the debate on the topological properties. Previous measurements by Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM) show in UTe2 a charge density wave (CDW) whose origin is unclear. In this talk, I will present new STM experiments which provide the connection between the CDW and the electronic structure. I will also briefly describe new approaches in scanning tunneling microscopy to study heavy fermion and unconventional superconductors.
